I think that it is appropriate to have a picture of yourself (and your friends) if it has effects done to it. For example, if you are on a Mac computer and you edit the pictures so it doesn't look like you. Anyone can see your blog, and someone you don't even know could know who you are. This is why you shouldn't have pictures of yourself (and with friends) unless they are edited, so you cannot tell who it is in the picture (unless you know them)..

1. What's the biggest hurdle you encounter with learning at school?
The biggest hurdle I encounter with school is probably concentrating on the homework that needs to be done, or finishing the assignment given to me.

2. What do you enjoy learning about?
I enjoy learning about things that aren't boring and that keep my attention..

When I get out of high school I would like to travel somewhere that's new to me.. I like to travel so I think that would be a lot of fun!

In 5 years I would like to see myself at the Fox Valley Technical College, learning about nursing.

I chose widgets then went to widgetbox and chose cyber-pet. This widget is completely free and you can have a pet without having to take care of it! You can name your own pet, choose the type of animal you'd like it to be and the color. You could use this for school instead of bringing in an animal!! This widget seems useful because you don't have to 'take care' of whatever animal you choose, and you get to pick an animal, the color and name your animal! You can choose from a long list of animals such as: a bat, a bunny, a duck, a fish, a hamster, a llama, a monkey, a panda, etc. Here's my cyber-pet..

I don't think that I'm a very good writer, but yes I could say that I have improved! When I write usually I can never think of a topic, or keep on topic. I'm good at good grammar, well at least I believe that.

If I could communicate with any country I would pick Italy.

Why did you pick that country?

The reason I'd pick Italy is because I don't know much about it and it would be interesting to learn new customs and how they live over there.

What do you already know about that country?

I don't know much about Italy... That's why I'd like to learn about it!

I would ask them how their lifestyle is, what language(s) they speak, what sports there interested in and etc.

Goals for semester

What kind of goals do you have for yourself as the end of the semester approaches?
At the end of this semester my goal is to get my World Cultures and Economies grade up. As of now I'm failing that class with a 51%, and i hope that i get it up to 60%!

Did you have a successful first semester?
I guess I could say that I improved my grades from last quarter to this quarter so I'm happy.
What goals will you set for yourself for second semester?
Second semester I'm hoping that I can get all b's or better.

Over break I basically worked, spent time with my family and Jacob. I worked 26 hours last week, I guess its not that much but whatever. Then Jacob bought me a Wii because my parents wouldn't let me play theirs in my room.

I think that the tone of "Everest" is serious, accomplishment, aspiring, hope, and friendship. While Erik and his friends were climbing Mount Everest they showed friendship, hope, accomplishment, aspiration, and seriousness by helping eachother and not giving up.

I'm not fascinated by either the Tarantula or Digger Wasp, I hate both of them. They both can harm you by stinging and biting you. Also, the Tarantula's appearance frightens me! knowing that the Tarantula's produce 500 to 1000 offspring makes me dislike them even more.

1) Do you consider Erik Weihenmayer an inspiration? Why or why not? Be specific.
Well for one if you don't know who Erik Weihenmayer is i'll briefly describe him. He is the only blind man that has ever climbed Mount Everest (on May 25, 2001). I think that Erik Weihenmayer is an inspiration because he is telling people that even if you have a disability you can accomplish your dreams and goals.

So for the new phone that I got was called the droid, by verizon wireless. It just came out yesterday, and its a great phone. That is if you lke tiuch screens. There is internet on it and unlimited apps to add. It comes with a 16 gb memory card too! Overall its a great phone

week 8: digital footprint

When I googled my full name and email accounts i found some were from twitter, bebo, and facebook. On my profiles i don't include any personal information. I mean, my 'friends' don't need to see that if they already know who i am! :)

What is included in having a positive digital footprint?
A positive digital footprint includes when others can search for you and find out things about you. Don't post things on you're blog that you wouldn't want others to see. For example, don't put things up on the internet that you wouldn't want your parents to see. Things you have on the internet will haunt you for about 7 years. One bad thing you put on your blog, myspace or facebook could follow you for years to come.

When should you start using your proper name and photo of yourself rather than an avatar?
I think that you should use a proper name and photo of yourself when you know that it is safe to. I wouldn't put my full name on myspace or facebook when my profile isn't private.

Who is responsible for showing you how to be internet savvy?
I think that our parents show us how to be 'internet savvy'. I think that your parents should be aware what you're posting on a website because if your going to post it, then why be afraid to show them?

Today is el dia de los muertos (or the day of the dead). It was first celebrated in Mexico, more than 3,000 years ago. The day of the dead was the basic principles of the Aztec ritual. When this 'holiday' was first celebrated the Aztecs and other Meso-American civilizations walked around their town with skulls as trophies and displayed them during the ritual. The skulls were used to symbolize death and rebirth. Now days no one would be walking around with skulls of family. Instead of real skulls people use plastic skulls, and make them themselves. November first is supposed to celebrate the death of infants and children, and November second is celebrated towards the death of adults.

My dream vacation would be going to London, England. If I would go there i would go with one other person. The round trip for two people would cost about $7,488 and about $3,744 each. That includes a 5 star hotel called Hilton London Park Lane, Roundtrip Transportation via Heathrow Express Train, Stonehenge Direct, Hop-On, Hop-Off Tour of London, Classic Dinner Cruise, Classic Dinner Cruise, Fly Green with TerraPass, a rental car and a magazine. This would be the most amazing trip ever :) I would love to meet new people.

Week 7: What is your favorite holiday?

My favorite holiday is Christmas. Christmas time mostly everyone is happy, and joyful. You get multiple presents (or most people should). Sometimes Christmas can be overrated though. I mean, what's the point of spending useless money on presents which your family isn't even going to use in a year or so? But back onto topic... the best vacation i have ever been on was when i went to Florida with my two sisters (Ashley and Allison). That's my favorite vacation I've went on because there was no parental supervision. Also I got to see my grandma and great aunt. They have a beautiful house and pool. The part I didn't like about going to Florida was getting sun burnt and my face got all puffy :( but other than that going to Florida with my two amazing sisters was unforgettable!

I'm a BAD writer, not literally meaning BAD.. it means blog action day.

Many people get climate change and global warming mixed up. Climate change means an extended change in climate, including temperature, precipitation and wind. Global warming means an increase in temperature of the Earth's temperature.

Over the past hundred years the average temperature near Earth's surface (in the air) has risen about 1 degree Celcius. This has been the highest temperature around the world since the past 1,000 years. That is A LONG time.

I used to play the cello, (which is a stringed instrument, some people think its a bass but its not..) I played the cello when i lived in Appleton and that was before i moved to Seymour in the beginning of middle school. I was so good at playing the cello that they bumped me up a grade! Even though that Seymour district doesn't have orchestra I would still like to play the cello but it would cost WAY to much for lessons and rental fees.
another one of my interests is reading. i love to read but don't have much time for it anymore, including work, school, homework, friends, and babysitting my brother i don't have time to read. I like the Uglies, and Twilight series.

this past weekend was alright i suppose! i had fun with my friends on friday night, but not feeling good the next morning. Saturday morning jacob and i drove from Waupaca to Escanaba.
